Abbott has gone a perfect 10-0 against Penelope recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will face off against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Abbott's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.

Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Gholson are ranked 234th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Penelope dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Abbott, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Abbott against Penelope in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 48-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
