Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Davis Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from RYNN FICKLING and ABBY DEERING

Jefferson Davis Academy was the 3-2 winner over Colleton Prep Academy when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the War Hawks on Wednesday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 25-16.

Despite the loss, Jefferson Davis Academy had strong showings from ABBY DEERING, who had 12 digs and six kills, and RYNN FICKLING, who had 13 kills, nine digs, five aces, and one block. FICKLING has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 12 times she's played. AVERI YONGUE was another key player, getting 15 digs and two assists.

Jefferson Davis Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Colleton Prep Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-9-1 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the War Hawks beat Jefferson Davis Academy by a score of 3-0 on Thursday.
