Baseball Recap: Stansbury Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Stansbury entered their tilt with Tooele on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Buffaloes 12-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-2 on Tuesday.

Stansbury got a great performance from Karmine Gallegos as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Gallegos a new career-high.

At the plate, Stansbury let Beckham Rowley and Kai Astill run wild. Rowley scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Astill went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Astill has become a key player for Stansbury: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Andrew Harris also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Stansbury's record is now 12-9. As for Tooele, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Stansbury beat the Buffaloes by a score of 11-10 later that day.
