Baseball Recap: Cape Fear's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Cape Fear was the 6-5 winner over Harnett Central when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Colts fell 6-1 to the Trojans on Wednesday.

Cape Fear saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Bunce, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Cape Fear's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6. As for Harnett Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Cape Fear and Harnett Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Colts (ranked 158th) will meet Seventy-First (ranked 453rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Harnett Central will challenge E.E. Smith at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (222 vs. 479).
