Soccer Recap: Willis Comes Up Short

Willis managed to keep up with Oak Ridge until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Wildkats came up short against the War Eagles, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Willis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 597th, while Oak Ridge are ranked 211th).

Willis dropped their record down to 2-9-3 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Oak Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Willis will face off against rival Grand Oaks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Oak Ridge is set to challenge their familiar foe Caney Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
