Softball Recap: Randolph Southern Rebels vs. Winchester Community Golden Falcons
Randolph Southern extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 27 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 0-14 in the process. They came up short against the Winchester Community Golden Falcons, falling 21-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-2 back in April.
As for Winchester Community, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5. Considering they have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
For Winchester Community's part, Lizzie Frazier made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Frazier was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ava Lanter was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Aviana Ramos was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Looking ahead, Randolph Southern will head out on the road to square off against Southern Wells at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
