Basketball Game Preview: St. Croix Lutheran Crusaders vs. St. Croix Prep Lions

The St. Croix Lutheran Crusaders will take on the St. Croix Prep Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Croix Prep will be up against a hot St. Croix Lutheran squad: the team just extended their winning streak to nine. St. Croix Lutheran claimed a resounding 85-32 win over Cristo Rey Jesuit. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Cristo Rey Jesuit are ranked 493rd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, St. Croix Prep blew past New Life Academy, posting an 80-53 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Lions have posted against the Eagles since March 9, 2021.

St. Croix Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. As for St. Croix Lutheran, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Everything came up roses for St. Croix Lutheran against St. Croix Prep in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured an 82-43 win. Will St. Croix Lutheran repeat their success, or does St. Croix Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
