Volleyball Recap: Jefferson City Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

Jefferson City won the last time they faced Springfield Catholic and things went their way on Friday too. The Jays walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Fighting Irish.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Jefferson City took both sets by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-11.

Leah Heisler paced Jefferson City's offense, picking up eight kills. Heisler got some help from Landrie Vogt and her 17 assists. Vogt was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Jefferson City is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10-1 record this season. As for Springfield Catholic, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-21.

Jefferson City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against St. Francis Borgia on the 11th. As for Springfield Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Greenwood on the 11th.
