Basketball Recap: Penn Piles Up the Points Against Concord

Penn won the last time they faced Concord and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Penn Kingsmen really took it to the Concord Minutemen for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-25 win. The Kingsmen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Penn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Sachire, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points and four steals. Sachire has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Little, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Penn was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concord only posted seven assists.

Concord's loss came despite strong showings from Halle Ganger and Shelby Emerick. Ganger had 12 points and three steals, while Emerick put up six points. Those 12 points gave Ganger a new career-high.

Penn is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for Concord, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Penn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-35 victory against South Bend Adams on the 19th. As for Concord, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-43 loss against Angola on the 18th.
