Football Recap: Pleasant Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Pleasant Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cardinal Newman, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Vikings fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 14-12 on Friday. The contest marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Pleasant Valley lost, don't look at Titus Andrus. Despite the final result, he rushed for 99 yards and one score, and also caught one touchdown. The Vikings also got help from Drew Van Nuys, who showed off his sure hands for 117 receiving yards.

Pathoumnourack Malakai had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 125 yards and one TD for Cardinal Newman. Malakai was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards.

Pleasant Valley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Cardinal Newman, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Pleasant Valley and Cardinal Newman will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Vikings see the field they'll take on Red Bluff at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Cardinal Newman, their break will end when they face Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
