Basketball Game Preview: Mount Tabor Spartans vs. Davie War Eagles

The Mount Tabor Spartans will take on the Davie War Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mount Tabor is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 1, 2024 on Wednesday. They were dealt a 61-31 loss at the hands of Southwest Guilford. The Spartans have struggled against the Cowboys recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Davie hadn't done well against Reagan recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Davie walked away with a 57-48 win over Reagan.

Davie's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Mount Tabor, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Mount Tabor came out on top in a nail-biter against Davie in their previous matchup on January 3rd, sneaking past 53-50. Will Mount Tabor repeat their success, or does Davie have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
