Baseball Recap: Pinelands Regional Wildcats vs. Neptune Scarlet Fliers

Pinelands Regional extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-12 in the process. They lost 8-2 to the Neptune Scarlet Fliers. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Scarlet Fliers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

For Neptune's part, Trevor Rummel and Jack Gamba-Ellis made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Rummel tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Gamba-Ellis struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Rummel went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Gamba-Ellis went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
