Softball Recap: Lampeter-Strasburg Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Lampeter-Strasburg made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Elizabethtown, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 10-3 victory on Wednesday. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Natalie Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Mackenzie Mack was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Alaina Brenneman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Lampeter-Strasburg's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Elizabethtown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lampeter-Strasburg will host Northern Lebanon at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Elizabethtown, they will take on Manheim Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Barons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.91 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
