Soccer Game Preview: Streator vs. Coal City

The Streator Bulldogs will face off against the Coal City Coalers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coal City took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Streator, who comes in off a win.

Streator's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Illinois Valley Central.

Meanwhile, Coal City's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Lisle by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Coal City came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Lisle are ranked 253rd).

Coal City's goal came courtesy of Ava Meyer, which was the first she's scored this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Coal City fell to 5-1-1. As for Streator, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
