Softball Recap: Ocean Springs Comes Up Short

Ocean Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 8-4 to the Spanish Fort Toros. The Greyhounds were not able to make up for their defeat to the Toros from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Gracie McDonald was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Ocean Springs' loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Spanish Fort, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Ocean Springs will face off against Orange Beach at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Orange Beach will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Ocean Springs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Spanish Fort, they will venture away from home to square off against McGill-Toolen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Spanish Fort is facing McGill-Toolen at the right time seeing as McGill-Toolen is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
