Recap: Yazoo City Indians vs. Holmes County Central Jaguars
After flying high against the Warren Central Vikings two weeks ago, the Yazoo City Indians came back down to earth. Yazoo City fell 60-47 to Holmes County Central on Wednesday. Yazoo City has not had much luck with Holmes County Central recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
It was another big night for DeKyra Mitchell, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds for Holmes County Central. The team also got some help courtesy of I'Xana Winters, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Yazoo City's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Holmes County Central, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yazoo City will square off against Gentry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holmes County Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Cleveland Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
