Basketball Game Preview: Fillmore Flashes vs. Channel Islands Raiders

Fillmore hasn't had much luck against Channel Islands recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fillmore Flashes will take on the Channel Islands Raiders at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Fillmore's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.

Last Wednesday, Fillmore didn't have too much trouble with Hueneme as they won 62-46.

Fillmore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Octavio Orozco, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. What's more, Orozco also racked up four blocks, the most he's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Brendon Palushaj, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Channel Islands entered their tilt with Carpinteria on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 68-58.

Fillmore is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Channel Islands, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Fillmore lost to Channel Islands on the road by a decisive 70-52 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can Fillmore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
