Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Corrigan-Camden). They blew past the Elkhart Elks 49-14 on Friday. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Elks had little chance of recovering from.
Derrick Reagie was his usual excellent self, rushing for 213 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Tahj Thomas did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Corrigan-Camden was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 503 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elkhart only rushed for 126 rushing yards.
The win got Corrigan-Camden back to even at 2-2. As for Elkhart, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Looking ahead, Corrigan-Camden will be playing in front of their home fans against Joaquin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Elkhart, they will head out on the road to take on West Rusk at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Elks surely won't give up without a fight.
