Softball Recap: Bourne Takes a Loss

Bourne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Old Rochester Regional Bulldogs. Even if the Canalmen couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Olivia Meda led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Demoura, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Bourne's record now sits at 0-17. As for Old Rochester Regional, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bourne will square off against Monomoy at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Old Rochester Regional, they will welcome Dartmouth at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
