Softball Recap: Grayslake North's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Grayslake North made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Zion-Benton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Knights beat the Zee-Bees on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-2. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Jane Pritchard was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Lauren Gaeding was another key player, scoring a run while going 4-for-5.

Grayslake North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was the third in a row for Grayslake North, bringing their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Zion-Benton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Grayslake North will head out to face off against Vernon Hills at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Zion-Benton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warren Township at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
