Recap: Lovelady Lions vs. Centerville Tigers
The Lovelady Lions lost against the Centerville Tigers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lovelady took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Centerville. Lovelady has not had much luck with Centerville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Centerville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wade Neyland, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Neyland hasn't dropped below 15points for 18 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Newman, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Lovelady has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Centerville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.
Lovelady will head out on the road to face off against Latexo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centerville, they will be playing at home against Leon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leon is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
