Baseball Recap: Lakeview's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Lakeview came into Friday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Harper Creek Beavers on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Beavers back in April, they had to take a 5-0 loss.

Isaiah Jackson and Spencer Shotwell did most of the damage at the plate: Jackson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Shotwell went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave Shotwell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam McCullough, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Lakeview's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Harper Creek, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeview will square off against Okemos at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harper Creek, they will take on Pennfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
