Softball Preview: Lakewood Cougars vs. Cedar Park Christian Eagles        
        
		
            The Lakewood Cougars will head out to  take on the Cedar Park Christian Eagles  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
Lakewood is probably headed into the  matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Coupeville just ended the team's  three-game winning streak  dating back to last season on Thursday. They took  an  8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves.
 Katie Krueger was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She  struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and six unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Krueger was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Krueger wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Riley Pevny, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Cedar Park Christian  took care of business in their home opener  (and then some) on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Sammamish as Cedar Park Christian made off with  a  16-0 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the RedHawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive  victory against them.
Like Lakewood, Cedar Park Christian also got a great game from a two-way player:  Shelby Southard. On the mound,  Southard   struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile,  Gianna Charlton   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. At bat,  Southard  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, three  stolen bases,  and three  runs, while  Charlton  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Adelaide Foster was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Evoleht Stuhr, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-2.
 Everything went Lakewood's way against Cedar Park Christian in their previous meeting  back in May of 2016, as Lakewood made off with  a  14-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakewood since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
