Basketball Recap: Connersville Comes Up Short

Connersville was the 54-43 winner over New Palestine when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons on Thursday. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Connersville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kendyl Bottomley dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. Bottomley has been hot, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Jones, who posted ten points.

New Palestine found their leader in sophomore Haven Flagle, who had 11 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Crim, who earned seven points and five boards.

Connersville's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for New Palestine, their record is now 5-1.

Connersville has already played their next game (against Lapel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for New Palestine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-30 victory against Rushville on the 25th.
