Football Game Preview: Pueblo East Eagles vs. Pueblo Central Wildcats + How To Watch

Pueblo East has gone 9-1 against Pueblo Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Pueblo Central took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pueblo East, who comes in off a win.

Pueblo East is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Sierra to the tune of 62-6 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

Pueblo East's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dion Allsworth, who threw for 175 yards and three TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing, and also punched in one rushing score. Those three passing touchdowns gave Allsworth a new career-high. Dolphka Lewis was another key player, rushing for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Pueblo East's defense stepped up as well, laying out Jaydan Filloon 5.5 times. Leading the way was Noah Van Hee with two sacks. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11. Pueblo East received some extra help from Logan Trujillo, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pueblo Central duked it out with Canon City on Thursday. The Wildcats had to suffer through a 42-2 loss at the hands of the Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 50 points in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Pueblo East pushed their record up to 3-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.2 points over those games. As for Pueblo Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Pueblo East didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Pueblo Central in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
