Baseball Recap: York Comes Up Short

If York was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Yarmouth on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats came up short against the Greely Rangers on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

York saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robbie Hanscom, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Greely, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. York will face off against rival Poland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Greely is set to take on their familiar foe Fryeburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rangers 2.1, the Raiders 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
