Softball Recap: Woodcrest Christian Takes a Loss

Woodcrest Christian entered their game against Ontario Christian on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Woodcrest Christian lost 22-8 to Ontario Christian. If the Royals were looking for revenge after losing 14-2 to the Knights when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Reagan Hamada made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Bella Barker was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Woodcrest Christian and nudges their season record down to 6-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Linfield Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.8% over those games). As for Ontario Christian, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Woodcrest Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Arrowhead Christian at 3:30 p.m. on April 1. As for Ontario Christian, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-0 defeat against Linfield Christian on the 25th.
