Softball Recap: Wyomissing Comes Up Short

Wyomissing lost against Brandywine Heights Area back in May of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Wyomissing fell just short of Brandywine Heights Area by a score of 8-7. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kylie Schoedler put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Wyomissing's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Brandywine Heights Area, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Wyomissing will venture away from home to challenge Pottsville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brandywine Heights Area, they will host Schuylkill Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Schuylkill Valley's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Brandywine Heights Area's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
