Football Recap: Torres Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Torres was riding high fresh off their 40-13 takedown of Fresno last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Toros took a blow against the Roosevelt Rough Riders on Friday, falling 46-14. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Toros of the 48-10 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Nathaniel Pichardo threw for 166 yards and two TDs. Johnathan Molina was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards.

Roosevelt found their leader in sophomore Ehis Idoni, who rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Idoni's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season. Brian Roberson also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.

Torres' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Roosevelt, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Coming up, Torres will take on McLane at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Toros will need to watch out since the Highlanders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Roosevelt, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sunnyside at 7:30 p.m.
