Softball Recap: Mt. Healthy Comes Up Short

Mt. Healthy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-1 to the Loveland Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Fighting Owls couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ja'Niyah Brockman was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with four stolen bases. Brockman is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Poellnitz, who scored a run and stole three bases.

Mt. Healthy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Loveland, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coincidentally, Mt. Healthy and Loveland will both be playing Western Brown the next time they take the field. Mt. Healthy will head out to face Western Brown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Loveland will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
