Softball Recap: Johnson Gets the Win

Johnson won the last time they faced Judson and things went their way on Friday too. The Jaguars walked away with an 8-5 win over the Rockets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Ava Espinoza looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That hit marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kinlee McGuire, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Barrett, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Johnson's victory bumped their record up to 20-4-1. As for Judson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-20.

Johnson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Judson, they will venture away from home to challenge Clemens at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buffaloes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Rockets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
