Basketball Recap: Isaiah Gideon and Jadon Williams Secure Win for Oakwood Academy

Oakwood Academy can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They snuck past the Park Crossing Thunderbirds with a 68-64 win.

Leading Oakwood Academy to victory were Jadon Williams and Isaiah Gideon. Williams went 9-for-17 to rack up 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Gideon shot 63% from the field en route to 16 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. With that strong performance, Williams is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Jayson McCoy, who posted 11 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Oakwood Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They are 4-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Oakwood Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Park Crossing, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
