Volleyball Game Preview: Concord Yellowjackets vs. Stockbridge Panthers

The Concord Yellowjackets will head out on the road to challenge the Stockbridge Panthers at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Concord's win against Quincy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellowjackets skirted past the Orioles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted against the Orioles since September 12, 2020.

Concord got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-30, 25-21, 25-15, 24-26, 15-11.

Concord's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lilie Vandenburg led the charge by getting 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Vandenburg a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Stockbridge posted their closest win since August 21st on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Springport 1-0. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Concord's record is now 24-9-3. As for Stockbridge, their record now sits at 5-14-1.

Everything went Concord's way against Stockbridge in their previous matchup back in September, as Concord made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Yellowjackets repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
