Volleyball Recap: Mountain Empire Takes a Loss

Mountain Empire lost against Horizon Prep back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Redhawks came up short against the Lions, falling 3-0. The Redhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Horizon Prep scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.

Andrew Sepulveda paced Mountain Empire's offense, picking up eight kills. Sepulveda got some help from Oscar Plasencia and his 14 assists.

Mountain Empire's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Horizon Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Mountain Empire wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Gompers Prep Academy on the 10th. As for Horizon Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Monarch on the 10th.
