The West Valley Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Elsinore Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Valley is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
West Valley gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Canyon Springs 9-2.

Caden Bridwell made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Bridwell wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nate Navarrete, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another was Ricky Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Elsinore came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 6-2. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly four runs.
Like West Valley, Elsinore also got a great game from a two-way player: Jacob Farias. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Farias was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Elsinore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sutter only posted a batting average of .130.
West Valley's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Elsinore, their record is now 10-6.
Elsinore's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. It's a different story for Elsinore, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain West Valley's hitters?
West Valley couldn't quite get it done against Elsinore when the teams last played back in April of 2023 as they fell 5-1. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
