Baseball Recap: Orion's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Orion took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Geneseo, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chargers had just enough and edged out the Maple Leafs 14-13. The win was nothing new for the Chargers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Kellen Kunert was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Mason Laleman also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Kunert wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Orion kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Orion pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Geneseo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orion will venture away from home to face off against Bureau Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Geneseo, they will head out to square off against Quincy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
