Baseball Recap: Mt. Rainier Wins Going Away Against Kentridge

Mt. Rainier barely beat Kentridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams never let the Chargers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The game marked the Rams' most dominant win of the season.

Rylan Keane was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mt. Rainier is 5-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Keane was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Johnny Hall, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Nolan Enghusen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Mt. Rainier and bumps their season record up to 10-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Kentridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mt. Rainier will take on rival Federal Way at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Kentridge is set to square off against their familiar foe Decatur at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chargers 3.8, the Golden Gators 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
