Volleyball Recap: Okawville Gets the Win

Okawville's tournament run continued when they took on Mt. Vernon on Saturday. The Rockets came out on top against the Rams by a score of 2-0.

While Okawville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-23.

Brecklyn Rennegarbe paced Okawville's offense, picking up eight kills. Rennegarbe got some help from Kenley Hackstadt and her 18 assists. Taylor Statler controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Okawville's victory bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Mt. Vernon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-19.

Okawville is on the road again on Saturday to play Herrin at 3:30 p.m. As for Mt. Vernon, they will square off against Althoff Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
