Softball Game Preview: Lake Nona Lions vs. Innovation Bulls

The Lake Nona Lions will head out on the road to take on the Innovation Bulls at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Nona has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Lake Nona came up short against Cypress Creek and fell 16-11. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amaya Macapinlac made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Rivera, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Innovation had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Patriots. The Bulls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Innovation pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Nona, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Lake Nona couldn't quite get it done against Innovation in their previous matchup on Friday as they fell 11-6. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
