Basketball Recap: Furlow Charter School Takes a Loss

Furlow Charter School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 32nd straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Crawford County Eagles, falling 106-20. The Falcons lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 86-30 score last time.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Riley Thompkins, who posted seven points.

Crawford County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Prater led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Prater a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Chadrick Price, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards.

Furlow Charter School's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Crawford County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Furlow Charter School Falcons take on the Marion County Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crawford County, they will welcome Macon County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Macon County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.1 points per game this season.
