The Central Missouri HomeSchool Saints will venture away from home to square off against Christian Fellowship at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Missouri HomeSchool has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Central Missouri HomeSchool came up short against Plaza Heights Christian Academy and fell 12-9. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Christian Fellowship came out on top against Higbee on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. Christian Fellowship was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Higbee. With that victory, Christian Fellowship brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Jack Papineau and Carson File were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Papineau struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, File pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave Papineau a new career-high. At bat, Papineau went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while File went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Papineau also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Carson Crockett was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Christian Fellowship is 2-1 when Crockett posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dain Bowlby, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Christian Fellowship was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The win was the third in a row for Christian Fellowship, bringing their record up to 4-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Central Missouri HomeSchool, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Central Missouri HomeSchool might still be hurting after the 20-5 defeat they got from Christian Fellowship in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Saints avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
