Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Sarasota Christian

Sarasota Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Babcock Trailblazers a 6-0 shutout on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Blazers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The result came thanks to Rowan Baum's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Evan Poznanski, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. James White also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Sarasota Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.6 runs. As for Babcock, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Coming up, Sarasota Christian will head out on the road to challenge Canterbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Blazers surely won't give up without a fight. Babcock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
