Baseball Recap: Bloomingdale Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bloomingdale can now relate to. They fell just short of the Viera Hawks by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday.

Javier Navas-Hoyer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bloomingdale saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Perez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Bloomingdale's loss dropped their record down to 26-6. As for Viera, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-11 record this season.

While Bloomingdale had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
