Senior guard led Link Academy to 25 wins and berth in Chipotle Nationals.
Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in prep basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2023-24 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Tre Johnson of
Link Academy (Branson) is the 2023-24 Missouri MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot-6 senior guard has led the Lions to a record of 25-6 and the No. 6 seed in next month's Chipotle Nationals.
For the season, Johnson averaged 15.5 points, 3.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds per contest. He shot nearly 40 percent from 3-point range and 90.5 percent from the free throw line.
