Baseball Game Preview: Moultonborough Academy Panthers vs. Colebrook Academy Mohawks

The Moultonborough Academy Panthers will square off against the Colebrook Academy Mohawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Moultonborough Academy's offense. They lost 21-0 to Woodsville on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Colebrook Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over Lin-Wood on Wednesday. The Mohawks haven't had any issues with the Lumberjacks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jackson Weir and Brody Dauphnais made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Weir didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Dauphnais struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). At bat, Weir went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Dauphnais scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Vinny Santamaria was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-6. Another player making a difference was Rory Shaw, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
