Basketball Game Preview: Dupree Tigers vs. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves

The Dupree Tigers will square off against the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Dupree is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Dupree came up short against Oldham-Ramona/R and fell 61-50.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte strolled past Stanley County with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 58-41. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Braves.

Dupree better focus on containing Dakotta Longbrake and Suni Bowman as the pair were huge in Cheyenne-Eagle Butte's win. Longbrake posted 20 points along with seven boards and seven steals, while Bowman almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Longbrake is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of JaiLynn Knife, who put up ten points and five rebounds.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Dupree's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-7.

Dupree was able to grind out a solid victory over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 67-59. Will Dupree repeat their success, or does Cheyenne-Eagle Butte have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
