Soccer Game Preview: Blaine vs. Meridian

Blaine is 1-9 against Meridian since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Borderites will look to defend their home pitch against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Blaine managed to slip by Sedro-Woolley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Borderites lost 3-0 to the Cubs on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Blaine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Sedro-Woolley are ranked 68th).

Meanwhile, Meridian fell victim to Mount Vernon and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. Meridian have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Blaine's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4-2.
