Volleyball Recap: Plattsburg Comes Up Short

Plattsburg suffered their biggest defeat since September 23rd on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the East Buchanan Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Plattsburg couldn't get the win, but they sure gave East Buchanan a tough time in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-28, 25-21, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Plattsburg still got an impressive performance from Izzy Parra, who had 32 digs. Parra is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

East Buchanan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaylynn Engnes, who had 21 digs and two assists. That's the most assists Engnes has posted over her last nine matches. Maggie Whitt was another key player, getting ten digs.

Plattsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8-2. As for East Buchanan, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10-3 record this season.

Plattsburg has already played their next matchup (against Cameron), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. East Buchanan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
