Melbourne is a perfect 10-0 against Palm Bay since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Melbourne Bulldogs will take on the Palm Bay Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Melbourne is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Eau Gallie on Monday. They came up short against the Commodores, falling 8-1.

Brooklyn Steidl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. Those hits were her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Palm Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 20-5 to Heritage.

Miya Reed was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Schroeder, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Palm Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Melbourne, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Melbourne took their victory against Palm Bay in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 19-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Melbourne since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
