Soccer Recap: Newton Local Plays to a Tie

For the first time this season, Newton Local was forced to settle for a draw. They and the Stivers School for the Arts Tigers finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw on Thursday. The outcome might've been different if Cooper Angle hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Newton Local's goal came courtesy of Brensen Skinner, which was the first he's scored this season.

Newton Local's draw makes their record 0-2-1 this season.

Coming up, Newton Local will head out to take on Piqua at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Stivers School for the Arts, they will take on Urbana at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
